ME 😦

Today was not an especially awful one, but as usual, there was stress involved. Whining aside, I should not have melted down on the kid.

We have had some issues with him losing or forgetting his cold weather gear. Forgotten coats and the first day he wore gloves they were tossed on the floor and almost two weeks later we have recovered only one … I need to remind myself that he is only 5yo, that the weather here changes so often that the coat one needed in the morning is an unnecessary and forgotten thing by the afternoon when it is 20 degrees warmer … but that is often easier said than done.

So today I didn’t think to ask till we got home from school if his coat was in his backpack. He says, “no I left it in Spanish class.” AARRGGHH. Yelling and pure dumbness aside, I am the adult and should have handled things better than said 5yo, but he trumped me this time.

We dashed back to school searched high and low. No coat.

Went to Target to get a few things and then after chilling out he and I went to dinner. Had a nice time. I apologized for being a total psycho mom about the whole coat thing and we got his homework done while we were waiting for our food.

The whole time where was the coat? In. His. BACKPACK!!

Guess I should have been the one to check.
