The Life & Times of Mommiehood

Here I am finding my way through uncharted waters.

First Day of School

The boy started “big” school today. Yesterday evening I attempted to read him Llama Llama Misses Mama but I pretty much cried through most of the book. Good thing though, because this morning I was fine. We parked and walked up to the school. He was excited the whole morning. When his teacher opened the door I suggested he go in and find his backpack hook and he was off. As far as I know he didn’t even look back.

When I picked him up he said, “mom, I thought I was supposed to stay at school all day?” Apparently he had so much fun he didn’t realize he was there the whole day. When I told him it was 3pm he was incredulous.

We called daddie on the way home and Stephan gushed about everything he did all day. His favorite part of school: the SMART Board. The only other kid’s name he knows: Jake (“like Jake and the Neverland Pirates mom!”). The coolest part about meeting the principal: she has a walkie talkie … and of course is “really nice.”

What a blessing to have him at the right school!

My husband Andrew and I have been married for fourteen years and love living in Colorado! Eight years ago I became a mommie to an awesome little boy and four years ago to my precious little girl. The past few years have been a whirlwind.
