The Life & Times of Mommiehood

Here I am finding my way through uncharted waters.

Hard to believe a week has gone by since I’ve wanted to post about this.

Last week Stephan produced some slime and was gagging a lot when I went to drop him off at the sitter’s so I took him with me to my end-of-year psych/sw breakfast and then back to work with me for a couple hours before heading home for lunch and nap.

While at work, I needed to meet with two students. I got him set up with a movie on my iPod and met briefly with one student. Stephan was acting a bit goofy and when that student left to go get me the other student he asked me about it. I told him that part of my job is to meet and talk with kids.

The second student came in and we chatted briefly. Both students sat in the same chair, the one they always sit in when coming to my office to chat.

When the student left, Stephan hopped up in the chair and said, “Mommie, we need to have a conversation.” One of the student assistants had came in for some candy and heard him say that. She smiled and asked if he wanted her to shut the door and he says, “Yeah, we need some privacy.”

I don’t even think he and I actually talked about anything, but the mere fact that he didn’t want to be left out was pretty cute.

He is such a hoot.

My husband Andrew and I have been married for fourteen years and love living in Colorado! Eight years ago I became a mommie to an awesome little boy and four years ago to my precious little girl. The past few years have been a whirlwind.
