The Life & Times of Mommiehood

Here I am finding my way through uncharted waters.

nothing too exciting

This might be a completely random post, sorry.

About the most exciting thing for me lately has been finally getting a Wii Fit and of course trying to earn enough fit credits to unlock everything in the game. Stephan loves to “play” as well, though he can’t do much of anything without a little help. Course he also doesn’t care one bit if he gets a high score, he just likes to stand on the board and push the A button. I however, am quite competitive and HATE when Andy gets a higher score than me. Now, when I don’t make it to the gym, naptime is more productive.

I’ve also been vegging out during my free time with Animal Crossing. I’ve got the biggest house, have a new bridge and a fountain, and am working toward getting the windmill/lighthouse next. I’d also like to catch more fish, but keep catching the same ones so far. I’ve got most of the fossils but it could still take a while to get the rest since I’m getting several duplicates.

Isn’t that putting you on the edge of your seat?

I had a pretty good day at work today. Felt like I got a lot accomplished even with a few distractions and then got complained at for not dealing with something that was apparently more serious than I was led to believe initially. If you don’t tell me what is going on, just that someone needs to talk to a student, and I’ve got several things on my plate, being that I’m only in the building one day this week, I’m not going to be able to do it. I was peeved because I said no, which is hard for me, and was then told later it should have been more important than testing … when I was trying to apologize for not having enough time. Grrr. I know you have stress, but join the club, we all do.

Tomorrow is a new day, and hopefully one without too much drama at work. I’ve had my fill of that lately. I need to get some paperwork done and meet with some students. Maybe have a meeting or two.

Friday is Andy’s birthday and I feel like there’s never enough time to get everything done. He’s had his present from me for a while, but I still need to get Stephan’s present for daddie and buy a few ingredients to make a cake. Stephan and I will be making the cake on Friday. We might have to figure out something special for dinner too.

Next week, we have some fun plans for Valentine’s too. We decided to start a family tradition and go to Casa Bonita on V-day. I know the place is incredibly cheesy and getting kinda run down, but we hope Stephan enjoys it. Today Andy had a client give him her Avs tickets for the 13th, so we’ll be doing that as part of the whole V-day celebration as well. I finally found Stephan a “newborn” boy Cabbage Patch doll that will be his present. I’m happy and think he’ll like it. Andy and I got each other Lego Indiana Jones for the Wii, which we hope will provide hours of entertainment for us both.

I’m now listening to a screaming toddler who has decided to push his bedtime boundaries. And to think I just mentioned to Andy that he was doing so well. He got a splinter and a scraped knee today and I think we waited too long to put him to bed. He’s exhausted. Thus the screaming, boundary breaking mess.

Am I really thinking about getting preggo again and adding a baby to this?

Thankfully, he’s not always screaming mess. He really is a sweet little boy most of the time.

My husband Andrew and I have been married for fourteen years and love living in Colorado! Eight years ago I became a mommie to an awesome little boy and four years ago to my precious little girl. The past few years have been a whirlwind.

  1. Okay, I just had to say…
Casa Bonita was my favorite restaurant to go to when I was little! I still remember what their food tasted like, and the smell of the water- ah, memories…
I hope you have a nice time, and about the second child- it DOES get easier as they get older (maybe a little noisier, though!). 🙂
