The Life & Times of Mommiehood

Here I am finding my way through uncharted waters.

the end of an era

So a month isn’t really an era. But August has been both a short and long month. I’m not sure I’ll be posting every day, but have gotten in the habit now of posting so hopefully I’ll update regularly.

We embarked on a new adventure this morning. Andy and I are co-teaching the 2yo class during second service. Basically, that means we teach for two weeks and then the other couple teaches for two weeks and we fight over alternate fifth Sundays. If I thought one 2yo was tough to manage, eleven 2yo is just that much more draining! I’m exhausted! Wrangling them to try and sit for a couple minutes for story time was interesting. Making sure they kept the playground rocks on the ground and didn’t steal each others toys/crackers/crayons was just plain tiring. I’m thankful that all four of us teachers were in there this week. Hopefully, enough parents and helpers signed up so we can have two helpers each week, that will make thing easier. Pick-up time was nuts with parents coming for kids and making sure nametags were exchanged for kids and papers and whatever else may have accompanied them. I’m glad two of us could man that while the other two helped the kids pick up and straighten toys. Next week I’ll be in charge of story time, I hope it goes well.

For now, I fee like it’s naptime, though I won’t likely be headed to bed or I’ll never fall asleep tonight. Instead I should head to the gym. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t. I also have several books I need to read from the library. I’m sure Stephan will be up in a bit begging to go to the park too. We need to run to Safeway since we have a $10/$50 purchase coupon and are pretty close to the monthly $100 mark to get us 10 cents off per gallon on a tank of gas. Every little bit helps!

My husband Andrew and I have been married for fourteen years and love living in Colorado! Eight years ago I became a mommie to an awesome little boy and four years ago to my precious little girl. The past few years have been a whirlwind.
